Project Goal

Our goal is to design an intuitive and visually appealing beauty app that simplifies users' skincare routines and makeup application, providing a smooth and enjoyable experience for both beginners and beauty enthusiasts.

The beauty industry faces the challenge of catering to diverse consumer preferences and needs, as users seek personalized product recommendations, accurate virtual makeup trials, and trustworthy information while navigating an overwhelming market of beauty products, trends, and influencers.

Problems

We decided to address these challenges by leveraging advanced recommendation systems, seamless virtual makeup trials, and reliable information, in order to enhance the user experience in a saturated market.

Empathize

We first started off by conducting user interviews for our project, which enabled us to capture firsthand insights from our targeted audience, guiding us in crafting a more user-centered and impactful presentation of our work.

User Interviews

Method- In person testing.

Duration- 30 minutes each

Number- 5 people interviewed

We then chose to organize and categorize the diverse range of user feedback and insights collected during our research by using affinity mapping, which enabled us to identify common themes and prioritize key design improvements collaboratively.

Lo/Mid Fidelity Wireframes

Before creating a high fidelity prototype we created low-fidelity wireframes which was crucial, as they allowed us to quickly iterate and refine our design concepts, ensuring that we could efficiently identify and address potential usability issues before investing significant time and resources into higher-fidelity prototypes.

Visual Design

In order to create an app with a harmonious color palette, simple typography, and distinctive logos and iconography, we really had to narrow down our choices for visual design to evoke a sense of timeless beauty and sophistication that reflects the essence of our brand and resonates with our target audience.
